The Traditional Santa Photo 2008

 

Well we had a super busy weekend and it seemed to fly by but we got a lot done. Today we went to finish off some Christmas shopping and we saw Santa and he wasn't busy so we stopped to chat and ended up having the boys photo taken. Normally I dress them all up for the occassion but today this was not the case. It was just lucky that they happened to be in the same coloured shirt. So we had the Santa photo done. I don't know how many more years I will get Luke into a Santa photo as today he asked "do I have to smile?" and I replied "well what else are you going to do?" Luke had a really good chat with Santa and was probably a little too honest. He told him that he had a few improvements to make and Santa told him that he had a few weeks to improve it. Mum actually had a good chat with Santa and told him that the boys were mostly pretty good and that it was probably her high expectations that were the problem. Santa told me not to worry and that I had a few weeks to get that into order. Now as for my sister - Michelle who Santa recognised the other day and told us that he knew which list she was on - that is a real worry. I guess that Santa just knows who is Naughty and who is Nice (Nies). Shelly I want to go for our own Santa photo - I'm sure that you want to sit on Santa's knee again.

We had a good day and achieved a lot. Got most of the presents wrapped and the Christmas tree went up one day early - as I will be home late tomorrow. It is a busy time of the year. Only 3 weeks of school left - which is scary when I think about what I have to fit into those 3 weeks.

Hope that all is well in everyone's world. Donna looking foward to an update from you regarding the "Are we there yet?" weekend. Dan - Luke had a great suggestion when I told him that you had phoned about your recycling bin and that was to wait for this week and then steal the one that is out!! I like the way the child thinks and it scares me a little that he actually comes up with it faster than I do!!! Helene how is the potty training treating you???Not sure that I want to know all of the details. Bel- we have to seriously sit together and organise classes and who is teaching where.

The Proud Mum - Swimming Carnival Success

 

 

 

 

Luke did really well at the Swimming Carnival this year. I wasn't sure how he was going to go as he hasn't trained for nearly a year. He came 2nd in 50m Freestyle, 2nd in 50m Breaststroke and 2nd in 50m Backstroke. He was then chosen for the Relay team and they came 3rd. It was a really good day. Luke was nice and relaxed - usually he works himself up but he didn't this year. I don't think that he expected to do as well. In all of the races he started in front and I think that his fitness let him down as the others overtook him towards the end. He wants to go back to swimming now which I think is great as it is fantastic exercise for him. So I got to play the proud Mum today!!!

Here are some photos of the day out. I am having fun with the new version of Picassa and it didn't really do what I wanted it to do the first time. The boy in the photo with Luke is Daniel and he is who he kept coming second to. Daniel is in Year 5 and he is a lovely kid - I was stirring him up during the day. I guess Luke will have to wait until Year 6 when Daniel is gone to win. I told Luke that I didn't mind him losing to Daniel and he replied that he didn't mind losing to Daniel because he is so nice.

Tonight I Wanna Cry

Today was just one of those day. All was going well and I was in the classroom and teaching for most of the day. I was conducting Human Sexuality lessons with boy and girls. The girls were just so mature and lovely. The boys weren't too bad. Then all hell broke loose - one of our students was throwing furniture and created a few holes in the wall. It was not pleasant! He was soooo angry. I got called to help with the situation and ended up calming him down - in the process I was injured - I hurt my wrist and it it very sore. I ended up in the Medical Centre and had to wait for doctor attention. Anyway I do feel like crying not only because it was a tough situation but because this child has a tough life and things are not a bed of roses for him. I don't feel any anger towards him as life is not easy for him. I thought that this Keithy song summed up the mood quite well. I guess that it is all in a days work!!!

Oh What A Night - Idol

 

 

 

 

We had such a good night at Idol. We had so much fun - I don't remember laughing so much or so hard. We stirred Kyle up heaps!!! We had photos with the hosts and the judges. Kyle was a crack up - we were right in front of him and every break he would go for his cigarette break and I would say "come to MUMMA" and he would come and give me a cuddle. Then I had my hair touched up by the hair stylist. I also shared a red snake with James the host. So much fun - basically we ran a muck!!!! One of the floor guys told me to audition next year BUT Belinda told him that I was TOO old - boo hoo. A very memorable night. It was the perfect end to a perfect weekend.

The Shopping Tour

 

 

 

 

We had a top weekend. Maryann and Belinda flew down for the weekend and Shelly stayed over. We shopped on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We had a great day out on the shopping tour. We even managed to visit a couple of the pubs along the way and have a few Sambuccas. We also consumed a couple bottles of wine as well. We just had to make sure that we didn't buy anything really ugly after we had been drinking - Shelly tried to tell me that a few things looked good! What a great weekend. It was good to hang out with the sisters. Thanks Emily, Olivia and Chloe (and Nick) for letting your Mum visit - I know that it wasn't easy giving her up for the weekend BUT we took great care of her. I really needed a good weekend!!!

The Good News and the Bad News

 

 

 

 

Well we have our new car and it is just gorgeous - love it. It is beautiful to drive. SO that is the good news. The bad news is that we got rid of our old car and I didn't really realise how attached I was to it. We have had it since Luke was born so it kind of feels like part of the family. It is going off to a beautiful family so I am OK with that but seeing it pull out of our drive way made me sad. It was a good car. so that is the bad news. I felt like I was betraying the old car - even though I know that cars don't have feelings I still felt like I was doing the wrong thing. Anyway I will get over it and I am SOOO enjoying the new one. Love the 6 stacker and have the music blarring as loud as I can.

A Sad Week All in All

This week there have been many ups and downs. Probably more downs that ups. Firstly we found out that Chris' Mum's cancer has returned. We are just waiting to find out what treatment is to take place. Then we found out that Alison's dad's cancer is much worse than we first thought. Then one of my friend's from school lost her dad to cancer on Saturday morning. Very sad - lots of love and thoughts being sent her way. Then today I found out that Michelle's sister in law lost her twins. One was delivered alive and then died shortly afterwards. Roll on the good news as I am beginning to wonder who and what I am going to hear about next.

My New Kluger - Yipee

 

It is official - we bought a NEW car and it is just gorgeous. It is a Kluger - Tidal Blue and with beautiful black leather interior. We did it after much debate!!!!! So in two weeks time I will be driving my fancy new car. We had to wheel and deal a little to bring in into the price range that we were happy with but we got there in the end. Joy rides will be given for anyone interested in cruising with me!!!!!! Can't wait - it is just like Christmas time - only better.

We Are Going To PINK

WHoo Hoo! WE got tickets UNREAL! I can't wait. She was so good to watch live last year and I can't wait to see her again. Her new album is excellent and I love it. It is played nearly non stop in our house. I already have my new favourite! I have heard people say that they would turn for Pink and when you see her live you can completely understand why they would say that. Will lend you the CD Bel if you want it. What an excellent weekend. I got to spent yesterday with my Sis and then I find out that I have PINK tickets and then we are off to car shop tomorrow.
