Giraffes are My Favourite

This page was inspired by our recent trip to Dubbo Zoo. I just love watching the giraffes. I really have to tear myself away from watching them. They are so tall and graceful. I use one of the gorgeous embellishments designed by the lovely Julie and you can find them on her website - Time to Create. I urge you to have a look at her site as there are so many yummy handmade products there and what I really love about them is you won't find them anywhere else as she designs them herself. I simply can not get enough of them. Hope that you are all finding time to scrap in this busy life.

Our Little Champion

Ben lost his grand final on the weekend in a very close. The other team scored in the final minute of extra time. Ben handled the loss really well. We had a talk before the game where I told him that despite the outcome that we were going to celebrate after the event. When they scored Ben ran straight to the goalie to tell him that it was OK. He was a graceful loser!! I think is just as important to know how to lose. It was a really good game. Ben's team were doing all of the attacking however they let a ball through in the end. Them the breaks. We went to the park afterwards to celebrate and all of the kids had an absolute ball. Ben was awarded with two certificates. One was for being the one that trains the most consistently and the other was for "Overall Best in Attack and Defence." I thought that they were both appropriate as he trains really hard and he is all over the field. It was a really good season. Ben had his old coach watching him for the last two games and as he walked off the field his old coach was trying to sign him up for next season. Ben is really happy where he is so he will probably stay with the Robbins.

So we now get a rest because the season is over BUT only for a week or two as he has already signed up for Summer Season.

Love to All of the Soccer Mums out there,

Content

I was reading something today that made me reflect and realise that I really am content with all that I have. We get so caught up with always wanting more - but really we have just enough. I have a beautiful family, a great job and enough freedom to do the things that I would like to do. I have a lovely home and amazing friends. I have all that I need. I think it is times like these that we sit back and say - "I am Happy and Content." I have everything a girl really needs.

Don't forget to have a look at Julie's blog and link to her Time to Create website to see some of her stunning embellishments. I have used her flourish and one of her gorgeous flowers on this page.

I hope that this entry find many others that are just as content!!!!

Grand Final Here We Come

Ben's team has made it through to the Grand Final. It will be played this weekend. They went into their last game as the underdogs and they were playing a team that was undefeated and won. It was hard to watch the other team as they too had worked really hard. So this weekend we play Bonnyrigg. In my eyes they are already the champions. Fingers crossed everyone for a win.

District Athletics Carnival

Yesterday both boys represented their school at the district Athletics Carnival. Luke came first in Discus which was really good. It is a shame that he did not make it in for Shot Put as he would have done well in that too. Ben ran third in his 100m heat and made it through to the finals. He placed 5th in the final. Ben was also a part of the Junior Relay team. He was extremely nervous about the relay as he had not been shown how to exchange the batton. He cried because he was scare that he was going to let his team down. They were coming second in the relay and then on the final exchange they dropped the batton. I was happy that it was not Ben that dropped it as he would have been heart broken. It was a good day all round. We are extremely proud of both of the boys. Luke is now training for the Regional Carnival in two weeks time.

They Make My Heart Sing

This week I actually got some scrapping done - which was really nice. I was determined to create some time to create and that is exactly what I did. I just love the little birdie that I used on this page which is one of the lovely embellishments from Julie at Time to Create. Julie is a talented lady who pours her heart and soul into creating gorgeous products for others. What I love about her products is that there is very little you need to do once you have them on the page. So for all of those that are time challenged like myself they are just perfect. Julie is having a give away on her blog - all you have to do is tell her your favourite colour embellishment. It is definitely worth a look. After looking at her blog why not pop over to her web page - Time to Create and have a look at all of her wonderful products - I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Happy 1st Lockie

We had Lockies' birthday on Sunday. He was such a good boy and he loved having all of the kids around. My boys just adore him and they worship the ground that he walks on. We had a great day celebrating and the weather was just beautiful. A lovely day for a Cowboy party.

If You Have To Go - Go Out In Style!!!!

Luke's soccer season ended on Saturday in a Semi-final. It is one of the most exciting games that I have ever watched. It was the type that kept you on the edge of your seat. He played such a good game and saved a couple of goals. He was marking probably the most difficult kid on the other team - their key striker and he did a brilliant job. Luke is not the fastest kid on the field but what he lacks in speed he makes up with in heart. When the opposition would make a break he would power along beside him and put the pressure on. It was truly good to watch. We ended up 1-1 and then went into extra time which provided no change in score. Then we went into a penalty shoot out and we lost 4-3. It was so close. Never mind - can't win them all and we were ever so proud of Luke. Talk about a close one - could have gone either way. It was a good way to go out if there is such a thing. We walked away after giving it our all. A great soccer season for Luke.

Ben's team won and they now progress to the semi-finals next weekend. He too has had a great weekend.

One good result and one not so good but I say if you are going to go - go out in style.

Hope that everyone had a great weekend.
