Camden Show

A couple of weekends ago we went to the Camden Show. This is a yearly event that we all love. We had a great time looking around with some of our friends. The boys had an absolute ball. The afternoon flew. I love this show as it makes me feel at home - it is very much like the Lismore Show. The boys are now trying to talk us into going to the Easter Show. We will see. They are pretty good as they mostly enjoy watching the ring events and they like to get a show bag - other than that they don't ask for much.

Just Can't Wait

I am almost peeing my pants with excitement over Eclipse coming out. It looks good - get ready all of those Twilight fans (as if I need to tell you that). Bel you might like to start getting ready - maybe another trip to Narellan will be in order.

Love to all of the Twilight fans.

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

Recently I had a dream about seeing a cloud with a silver lining. It involved one of my gorgeous work colleagues- Karen. In the dream we were taking in the scenery and I was taking a photo of a cloud with the silver lining. I then stumbled on this photo that I took last year. I think that this dream has significance as most of the dreams I remember come true. Now in our work place we managed to get a wonderful new boss so maybe this is the silver lining. I actually think that it may mean something more for Karen. So watch out for that silver lining Karen I feel that it is comming your way and if it does you sooo deserve it.

Well today was the last day of being a Principal for me (for the time being anyway). Our new principal starts on Monday. I have learnt a lot and have had an enormous amount of support. I am really looking forward to getting back into the classroom to do what it is that I love the most - teach!!!!! At this point I am not sure if being a principal is something I will pursue in the future. For now I am happy to get back into the classroom.

Hope that you all have a great weekend and that you all find a cloud with a silver lining (and if you don't I am happy for you to borrow mine for a while).

To All Those I Consider to Be the Golf Balls

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem , almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

To All Those I Consider to Be the Golf Balls - I love you - thank you for filling my life in the way that you do. I will always make room for the golf balls.
